Dong Quai Root Extract
Super Strength
Dong Quai extract is made with the herb’s root (Angelica sinensis). Our Raw SuperCool proprietary double extraction process yields a Super Strength Holistically Standardized extract. Liquid extracts are absorbed faster than tablets or capsules, and are more potent than tinctures. Holistically Standardized guarantees that the constituents of the extract are in the same synergistic ratios as in the plant.
Commonly referred to as the “female ginseng”, this Asiatic herb is traditionally used as a general female tonic, and to treat gynaecological problems. ACCUMULATED WISDOM
Dong Quai is native to China, Japan, and Korea. It is a member of the same plant family as celery and carrots. Dong Quai has been used for thousands of years in traditional Chinese, Korean and Japanese medicine. It is one of the most popular plants in Chinese medicine. Dong Quai has been called “female ginseng” because it is commonly used for health conditions in women. The plant has been used for practically every female health concern from recovery from childbirth to premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and everything in between.
Dong Quai is one of the most respected plants for women’s health, commonly taken to strengthen the blood and female organs. This perennial herb aids treating irregular periods, amenorrhoea (lack of menstruation) and dysmenorrhoea (severely painful menstruation). Dong Quai root increases cellular absorption of oestrogen and testosterone in the uterus, thus regulating hormonal imbalances.
This Asian medicinal tones the blood, and helps those suffering from general weakness, debility and circulatory disorders like heart palpitations and angina. Dong Quai is also useful to treat coronary problems, rheumatism, ulcers, constipation and mild anemia in men and women.
Scientific studies performed to unravel the actives in Dong Quai have found compounds called coumarins. These constituents are responsible for the positive effects of Dong Quai as a fever reducer, central nervous system (CNS) and uterine stimulator, anti-inflammatory and muscle relaxant.
Prescribed by herbalists and naturopaths for anemia, PMS, and menopause, Dong Quai contains vitamins B12, E, and magnesium. These elements are important nutrients for proper nervous system function, and are usually deficient in menopausal women and PMS sufferers.
